Parksley boy earns chance to train with Tottenham

Daniel Larreinaga makes the sixty mile drive each way three - and sometimes four - days a week from Parksley to Salisbury, just for soccer practice.

He and his father believe that playing for the Matrix Soccer Academy gives Daniel the best opportunity to develop further as a footballer.

With its roots in England, and its founder Charlie Jackson’s association with Manchester City, the potential to someday play in Europe is a possibility for Matrix players. Little did Larreinaga know that opportunity would come sooner than later, and in London instead of Manchester.

Matrix Soccer Academy makes Salisbury its American home

Wicomico County’s Recreation and Parks announced on July 24 that it has partnered with Jackson’s program to offer a unique opportunity to soccer players and coaches. The Matrix Soccer Academy is based in Manchester where Jackson currently works as an elite skills development coach for English Premier League club Manchester City FC.

 

The partnership has kicked off with a two-week camp, for soccer players ages 6 to 16, running through the first week of August, at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex in Salisbury.

Wicomico County Superintendent of Recreation and Parks Andy Kitzrow welcomes US and North American President Bryan Watson and Matrix Soccer Academy founder Charlie Jackson at Wicomico County Civic Center luncheon to launch landmark partnership between the two entities to establish international academy.

After a nationwide search the perfect place to start the Matrix Soccer Academy in the United States was determined to be right here on Delmarva.  Charlie Jackson the founder of the academy spoke today at the Civic Center saying it was a natural choice due to it's proximity to New York, Balitmore and Washington, DC.
